a little story about little macaron

When I was pregnant with our first child, I worked with an amazing school nurse who had a habit of surprising people with treats on completely unexpected occasions. One day, when I offered to make her a cup of tea, she invited me to her office to have tea together. When I arrived with our tea, she pulled out a box of gorgeous little macarons from her desk drawer. I was really surprised. I told her how much I loved macarons as a special treat, but they’re not something I’ve ever bought a fresh box of and put in my desk drawer to have on a perfectly ordinary weekday. She looked me square in the eyes and said ‘Airia, it’s ok to randomly have special treats. In fact, I think that’s the best time to have them.’

I absolutely love jewellery. Whether I’m getting it for myself or gifting it to someone I care about, I think of jewellery as a happy fun little treat. And just as I’ve learned to appreciate that there’s no reason to wait for a special occasion to have a macaron, I also believe there’s no reason to wait to have - and actually wear - jewellery that makes you happy.

So here’s an affectionate nod to that memorable conversation. I hope you enjoy indulging in little things, just as I have learned to do.

Welcome to little macaron.
